How Old Glory came to be
Old Glory started out as a construction consulting firm, designed to help folks deal with contractors, new builds, and that sort of thing. I did a lot of home inspection reviews for home buyers, some project management, and a little bit of remodel consulting. The customers always get a vote, so when the opportunity came to join forces with a remodeling company that had been working for over thirty years, I took it — and became something I never wanted to be: a general contractor.
Recognizing that the general contractor pond is full of sharks and my new business would be just a minnow, I had to find a way to stand out. After a lot of research, three things stood out as the biggest concerns for potential customers. First was too much money up front. Then knowing where and how that money is spent. Last was working every day on the job — no days off. Old Glory is built around addressing those specific concerns. We don’t take money up front unless there is a big purchase with a long lead time. We are on the job every day. Our estimates and invoices show what we bought and how many hours we worked. We bill once a week, and our customers rarely pay late. Seems like it’s much easier to pay if you know exactly what you are paying for.
As our customer base grew, we started getting more requests for handyman work than we could handle. Handyman has to be responsive and able to do anything. Remodeling with bigger crews simply couldn’t be as responsive, and remodeling required specific skill sets, not generalists. So we created a new business: Old Glory Handyman. The goal is to have an appointment set within 24 hours of the first phone call. Handyman stays very busy and the company continues to grow. I’m really proud of the work the team is doing right now.
Old Glory is a great crew of people who are bought into the Old Glory idea. It starts with this: the company belongs to God, He chose me to run it for Him. Everything we do is driven by three words: trust, confidence, integrity.

- ★No big draws up front. We don't ask for your money before we've earned it, outside major long-lead material purchases.
- ★Itemized weekly invoices with labor timesheets and store receipts attached, plus a running cost-to-date summary.
- ★A job lead on your project every day, and a weekly call to make sure you're satisfied.
- ★We only accept a job when we're sure we can deliver what you need.

We collaborate with S.E.R.V.E., a program helping veterans find local resources to improve their families' lives — including post-Harvey work in more than 30 veterans' homes. You'll also find us in Rotary, the Texas Navy, Toastmasters, and pulling for the community at Yachty Gras.
